Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York with strong Caribbean roots, DJ Captain Celsius started making what was called paused tapes and sold them to school mates and neighborhood friends. Shortly afterwards he had two non DJ turntables from home systems with no pitch control but was able to make it work, doing battle moves and rocking basement parties. Over the years he graduated to better turntables. Ultimately, the fun really started when he joined Heavy Sounds! He learned a lot from working together with a group of DJs, right down to the business aspects. After everyone went their own way, he continued on doing weddings, parties, and clubs. However, feeling restless and wanting to do more than just one area he then joined (Interscope associated) Insomniac Record Pool which opened the way to new outlets. Insomniac is more than just a record pool they provide support for worldwide events with various connections on the underground and commercial network. After doing shows for them he networked with other companies which lead to more opportunities DJing away. Celsius has basically marketed himself strongly and has kept flexible to any and everything. He is also part of Insomniac Sounds out of the Washington DC area which involves both hip hop and reggae. He tries to hit up as many hip hop and DJ conferences no matter what. If you want something bad enough you have to go for it no matter what it takes. DON’T BE AFRAID TO INVEST IN YOURSELF.

In addition to DJing and planning all types of events he has several groups with whom he has ongoing projects. Promotional aspects involve opening for acts, giving exposure to their music and via live spinning and mix CDs.

Currently A&R, Promoter, Artist development, and dj for DMG records.
